AGENCIES WE WORK WITH

G&K modifies vehicles to meet US DOT, EPA, and CARB standards. G&K is a registered importer with the Department of Transportation and an Independent commercial importer with the Environmental protection agency and a recognized modifier for the California Air Resources Board. G&K is able to facilitate the importation process for vehicles that were not made to comply with US regulations. G&K’s conversion consists of the following categories:

• DOT safety standards
• EPA emission standards
• CARB California standards (if registering in California)

WHAT WE DO

When the vehicle is imported to the USA it will go through customs and G&K can provide the documentation needed to import the vehicle and go through the compliance process. There are several steps in order to comply with each agency. The general process is outlined below:

• Ship vehicle to USA port
• Submit customs documentation through a broker
• Provide Bonds to Customs for the importation
• Obtain customs clearance
• Transport vehicle to G&K’s facility
• G&K works on DOT safety requirements
• G&K modifies the vehicle, some items modified may be headlights, tail lights, speedometer, door beams, bumpers, and more
• G&K Obtains approval and gets the bonds released
• G&K works on EPA emissions requirements
• G&K obtains approval
• G&K works on CARB emissions requirements if registering in California
• G&K obtains approval

All documentation is provided to the owner of the vehicle to obtain registration in their state.
Documents needed for DMV registration are:

• Original Title / Registration
• Bill of Sale or Value
• Paperwork provided by G&K
